New Year’s resolutions are part of many conversations when the calendar turns on December 31. Often we are encouraged to set goals for our future selves that are either related to work or our personal journey. Fitness, wellness, weight loss, drinking less alcohol, eating better – these are all common threads among those seeking a healthier new year. My encouragement as we set our sights on 2025 and all the blessings and challenges it will bring (because it will bring both) is to set a resolution that involves embracing and choosing yourself, just as you are, and celebrating that with a boudoir session to seal the deal. While the conversations have gotten better, and more around acceptance than change, when it comes to our relationships with our bodies, there’s still way too much chatter (in my opinion) that drives us to want to achieve unrealistic and necessary ideals. My challenge to you, today, is to look at yourself in the mirror, and rather than see what you don’t like, try to see past that and love the you that you see. Talk back to the self-doubt and little voice that says you aren’t thin enough, good enough, tall enough, big-breasted enough, or whatever the words are that flow through. Slam the door in the face of that negativity and look at yourself with loving, accepting eyes.
While a boudoir session may seem scary, and like a reach when it comes to silencing the chatter that tells you you’re not perfect or not enough, it actually is an amazing opportunity to do something for yourself that might just change how you see yourself because I promise – you will be amazed at the results. And that little bit of boost can put you in a new frame of mind to embrace the sexier, more confident YOU and, if you ever feel like you’re opening the door again to those negative words, you can look back at the session images in your keepsake album and remember that this IS you. And you are beautiful. So in this New Year! Choose You, Celebrate with Boudoir. Now that’s a resolution we can get behind!
